The unit is just not rigid enough to use end mills, even as small as 1/4 inch, on steel. A 2 inch Fly Cutter is an impossible dream.

We upgraded our Sherline making it a 3 axis cnc machine with a ten thousand RPM spindle speed along with high speed teflon coated screws and a better anti backlash system.
